Home is where the heart is

HOSTEL:

A place where a group of strangers become a family.

The hostel of St. Joseph’s College for Women (A) is a home away from home for the hostelites. A place where dreams are made of, a reflection of what the real world should be like and a place where barriers are broken, life lessons learnt and lifelong friends are made. Life in a hostel sure is better than life in the 'REAL' world. This helps us in maintaining discipline in our life.

The reasons to choose this hostel are:
There is  less judgement and you are more
 confident in who you are
You find yourself surrounded by people who encourage you to try new things and chase your dreams.
Your new friends open your eyes to different cultures and parts of the world
They say the less you have, the less you have to lose - this also applies to your dignity which is diminishing each and every day
Your one week friendships have progressed so quickly that they feel life a lifetime
Your stress levels are at an all time low.

There are various facilities in our hostel. Such as:

  • Cyber cafe
  • Refreshment and Recreation
  • Purified drinking water
  • Proper study time and study room

Our Warden makes every one of us feel homely and safe. She is very helpful and also takes care of the us when we are sick. Our Warden walks with us through our journey. She works hard for our safety. Our hostel even nurtures qualities like punctuality and discipline in order to make an individual independent. The aura of the hostel supports and encourages everybody to take part in fruitful activities. The hostel facilitates the students to assemble in a common place where everybody gets a chance to discuss about the daily events and current affairs. Life in a hostel is a community life. Our sister gives emotional support and guidance to the hostelers to help us go on a right path, solve the issues arising in our life and so on.

The seniors of our hostel are very supportive and caring towards the juniors. Any mistakes made by the juniors are corrected by the seniors in a humble and a co-operative way.

We are  not only from different states, but also from different countries yet, we live together in harmony. We learn social etiquette and lead a better and disciplined life.

Life is merry and jovial in our hostel where we live together, eat together, pray together and experience together.

In every hosteler’s heart what echoes is:

“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
